A Better Life... (Photo by Jay Olay)

On Saturday, October 7, 2006, I just happen to be on my way to Georgia State University to take photos for a non-profit organization, when, as usual, I managed to get lost on my walk from the Five Points Marta Station on my way to the campus.

However, today was in unique in that I surrounded by other people in my walk. However to refer to them as just “people” would be downplaying, and to say that they were a part of my “walk” would be a misnomer. They were immigrant laborers, holding a public display in Atlanta regarding the issues of deportation of illegal immigrant workers in the Atlanta Metropolitan area. I estimate that their numbers were in the thousands, as they converged on the Gold Dome to listen to speakers discuss issues regarding the naturalization of Atlanta’s immigrant worker population. I managed to tak a few black-and-white shots of the event, including the one in this post.
